RM26
Above the water, the sweeping sheer and tumblehome of the RM26 speak to the traditions of Maine boatbuilding. Below the water, the V-hull and Volvo Duoprop outdrive provide a comfortable ride throughout her range up to 28 kt. The RM26 has a cold-molded wooden composite hull. The composite center console may be raised at the touch of a button to reveal the 200 HP Volvo diesel below. With her aluminum framed T-top and large, round-fronted dodger, there is protection from sun and spray.
RM44
The new RM44 blends a moderate-V, hard-chined hull shape with classic tumblehome, advanced wood composite construction for great strength and extreme durability, a variety of propulsion options, and thoroughly modern mechanical and electronic systems. The RM44 maintains a distinctive, classic look, capturing the tradition of New England boat-building and seafaring.
At 44’ LOA and 14’ beam, the RM44 offers generous, comfortable accommodations for four. Designed for coastal cruising, the interior layout includes a private queen-size stateroom with island berth, head and separate shower, a large lower dining settee that can be converted to a queen-size sleeping berth, galley, and wheelhouse with helm station and comfortable seating. There is a generous cockpit with additional seating accessed through removable doors.
The wood composite construction comprises four epoxy-glued layers of wood with a sheathing of fiberglass cloth, with a total thickness of 1-1/2”. Each layer is oriented to maximize grain strength in alignment with the stresses. The proven 'West System' epoxy resin is employed, utilizing vacuum bagging to ensure a dense, void-free, fully bonded result. 'West System' epoxy is ideal for yachts, being highly resistant to fresh water, salt water and UV radiation. It is also typically stronger than wood.
This method of wood composite construction has proven extreme durability, high strength to weight ratio and high resistance to fatigue cracking. Hardwood composite engine mounts are noted for reducing engine noise and vibration in motor yachts.
